Edith lives in the north east of England and her love of drawing began as recently as March 2002. Edith told us...
I am a self-taught artist currently living in the North East of England with my husband and daughter. I am very proud of my Irish ancestry and the Kavanagh Clan name of which I am a member. My website TheKavanaghCollection.co.uk proudly displays the Kavanagh name in loving memory of all of my Kavanagh ancestors' and Kavanaghs' worldwide.
I have exhibited my artwork both internationally and locally and won awards. Along with this, my artwork is in the collection of notable celebrities and private collections around the world. I am very proud of the letter I received from St. James's Palace written on behalf of Prince Charles thanking me for the watercolour painting I did of Gibside chapel.
I have been heavily influenced in my art by many well-respected and well-loved artists of the past. Redoute is my favourite floral artist while Turner is my favourite landscape artist.
I work in several mediums, including watercolour, acrylics, coloured pencils, graphite and pen and ink and have learnt many different techniques from these mediums.
I'm happy to tackle any subject and use only the finest quality artist materials. Please feel free to contact me to commission a piece of artwork - I am always happy to chat.
