British artist Emily Elliott was born in 1975 and specialises in painting with oils and graphite drawings. Emily told us...
I was born in Northamptonshire and enjoyed art from a very early age and it was most definitely my favourite subject at school. I went on to study fine art at Coventry University where I especially enjoyed working on portraits and nudes in graphite pencil and oils, but also loved the opportunity I had to work in the print room on etchings and lithographs.
Shortly after I left University I married and had my five beautiful children who keep me wonderfully busy, and I took a break from my passion for several years. I'm very excited to be working on my art again and my fairly large family means I'm never short of models for my love of portraiture, they're always keen to pose and are a great inspiration to me.
Recently I have also loved working on a few commissions on my favourite subjects, people and pets, and it would be fantastic to work on more in the future.
